Meet the Janes.

CLAMITY CHERYL

Co-founder of Clamity Janes.

Cheryl resides in Greenport and NYC. When not clamming, talking about clamming, thinking about clamming, checking the tides, studying satellite maps for the next clamming spot, or making her signature clam pizza, she works for one of the original madmen ad agencies in Manhattan. Hence her instagram handle: @madgirlnyc. She was introduced to clamming by a long-time Oysterponder and friend, Adrian Cockerill, and never looked back.

CLAMITY STEPH

She’s not just a fair weather clammer.

Steph is a year ‘round Southold resident, artist and small-business owner of the Bellwether (textile and home design services) and co-founder of Clamity Janes. When not raking, she is making - her handwoven textiles (Shed Textile Co) take inspiration from the North Fork landscapes and waterways. You can find her brick-and-mortar store, the Bellwether, with hand-woven goods, vintage finds and other textile-related treasures on Main Road in Southold.

CLAMITY TARA

Saltiest member of the Clamity Janes

Tara is a resident of Mattituck, celebrated New York Times photographer, and co-founder of Salty Roots. As a landscape artist, she earned a Masters Gardener designation from Cornell Cooperative. Her dedication to designing and cultivating ecologically-friendly landscape solutions for her clients translates directly to her love of preserving both the land and the marine ecosystems that make our East End so special.

CLAMITY ALEX

Southold by way of South London.

Alex is a digital engagement specialist by day. When she’s not codifying systems for consumer experience she can be found clamming and cooking up a spicy seafood curry or immense paella with her own hand-raked clams and fresh catch from Charlie’s.

CLAMITY CLAIRE

Claire is a multiple Emmy-awarded producer based in Orient.

Her hands-on television production skills translate directly to her clamming style. You can usually find her arm deep in the bays pulling her clams by hand. Her daughter, while out on a clamming expedition with the Janes, composed our theme song: “Musty Clam, Musty Clam.” Ask her to sing it!
